About Dr. Maria Montessori

Dr. Maria Montessori became Italy's first female physician in 1896 before shifting her focus to child education. She established Casa dei Bambini (“Children's House”), where she developed her educational method through careful observation of how children naturally learn through interaction with their environment.

Montessori identified ages 2½ to 6 as developmentally critical, introducing the concept of “The Absorbent Mind” — children's remarkable capacity to absorb their surroundings intuitively and effortlessly.
